Your new furnace might actually need a few additions before it can operate as efficiently as you need it to. Now that you're going to have a new furnace installed in your home, it's a good idea to talk to your contractor about a few other additional items. These add-ons can be installed right along with your new furnace. Once they're installed, your furnace will operate more efficiently and will provide more comfort for your family. Air Purifier

Take a look around your house. If the surfaces in your home are coated in a fine layer of dust or your family suffers from increased allergy symptoms, talk to your contractor about installing an air purifier with your new furnace. Larger Ducts

If you're investing in a new furnace, talk to your contractor about installing larger ducts at the same time. Depending on the age of your old furnace, the existing ducts might not be large enough to allow sufficient airflow. Unfortunately, that means your new furnace won't be as efficient or as effective as it should be. Larger ducts will help your new furnace provide you with plenty of warm air. Best of all, your new furnace won't need to work overtime to push warm air through the ducts.

You might think that your current programmable thermostat is all you need, but that might not be the case.  If your current programmable thermostat is more than a few years old, it might not be equipped with smart home technology.
